Training at Berner Fachhochschule (Switzerland)

From February 24 to March 7, 2025, the BM-TEST team completed a training program at Berner Fachhochschule (Bern University of Applied Sciences). The program focused on European approaches to window and door testing.

As part of the visit, we toured several leading manufacturing companies, including:

  • Sägerei Trachsel AG – woodworking and window profile production
  • 4B Fenster AG – innovative energy-efficient window systems
  • RWD Schlatter – premium-class door manufacturing
  • HuberFenster – wooden windows combining tradition and technology
  • Smartwindows AG – smart windows with electronic control

This training not only deepened our understanding of European testing methodologies but also provided valuable hands-on experience directly at the production sites.

Attended InterBuildExpo 2025 in Kyiv

From March 19 to 21, 2025, we participated in InterBuildExpo 2025, the largest construction exhibition in Ukraine, held at the International Exhibition Center in Kyiv.

This year, the exhibition focused on infrastructure reconstruction, energy independence, modern construction standards, and sustainable development.

We explored innovative materials and technologies, attended industry conferences, and took part in open discussions addressing key challenges and solutions for the construction sector in the context of national recovery.

Participation in InterBuildExpo opened new opportunities for collaboration and the improvement of our laboratory services in response to the needs of the modern market.

Participation in European interlaboratory comparisons

In January 2025, our center joined the European interlaboratory comparative testing program. We conducted air permeability testing of a sample provided by the program coordinator, using the EN 1026 method.

A total of 28 laboratories from various European countries participated in the study. Such comparisons are a crucial element in confirming a laboratory’s competence, as they allow for the assessment of result quality and accuracy in relation to other European laboratories.

Participation in this process is another important step toward integration into the unified European framework of technical regulation and increasing international trust in our testing results.

Visit to leading European laboratories

On January 16–17, 2025, we visited two renowned European laboratories — ift Rosenheim (Germany) and Holzforschung Austria (Austria).

  • ift Rosenheim is a large-scale research institution equipped with a wide range of testing systems for windows, doors, insulating glass units, and façade systems. The laboratory operates under European regulations and exemplifies an integrated approach to structural quality assessment.
  • Holzforschung Austria is a leader in wood and timber structure research. The laboratory applies advanced methodologies for assessing wood durability, with a strong focus on environmental considerations.

This visit served as both a source of inspiration and a clear benchmark for the development of Ukrainian laboratories toward European integration and the implementation of best practices.

Participation in the BAU-Munich 2025 international exhibition

From January 13 to 15, 2025, representatives of BM-TEST attended the BAU 2025 International Exhibition in Munich, Germany — one of the world’s largest events in the fields of architecture, construction, and innovative technologies.

The exhibition brought together key industry players: architects, engineers, manufacturers of construction materials, and providers of technological solutions. Our participation allowed us to explore cutting-edge trends such as construction digitalization, sustainable solutions, and energy efficiency.

We also established new international contacts and exchanged experience with colleagues from various countries. This is an important step toward integrating the Ukrainian market into the European professional community and enhancing the quality of our services.

Successfully passed reaccreditation

On December 19, 2024, our testing center successfully passed the reaccreditation procedure at the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine (NAAU) and received an updated accreditation certificate.

This document confirms our technical competence in accordance with the requirements of **DSTU EN ISO/IEC 17025:2019** — the international standard governing the quality of testing laboratory operations.

Our accreditation covers a wide range of materials, including: construction products and structures, binders, aggregates, construction mixes, paints and coatings, thermal insulation and polymer materials, as well as wood, metal, windows, doors, and insulating glass units.

The certificate confirms that we have qualified personnel, modern equipment, and the capability to deliver reliable testing results recognized both in Ukraine and abroad.
